What’s going on with Republicans?

Frankly, I am baffled by the Republicans. I mean, what happened to the “Law & Order” party?

And what is going on with all those Republican candidates, especially those running for president? With one oddball exception from Florida, they’re all running in single digits in the polls. Can they all be waiting for Mr. Trump to be led off in handcuffs or something? We used to call that waiting for Santa Claus.

Or maybe they’re waiting for the first Republican presidential debate to get their licks in even if it risks dropping even lower in the polls?

Note to Republican presidential candidates: Don’t hold your breath waiting for Donald Trump to join you on the debate stage. I suspect the only appearance Mr. Trump will provide during the debate is running some commercials while all of you guys are up on the stage trying to figure out who you shoot at.
