Congress voted to combat the Coronavirus Pandemic; Lesko & Biggs supported the Pandemic.

Ok. This is bizarre even for two of Arizona’s U.S. Representatives to Congress.

Let’s set the scene:

Its Saturday March 14th. America is on edge as the Coronavirus Pandemic sweeps across the country and around the world. Americans can see what’s going on and aren’t waiting for the politicians to tell them what to do.

Grocery stores are mobbed and shelves are being emptied as soon as stock is put out. Toilet paper and hand sanitizer are valuable commodities. And it seems like every few hours there’s more news – or rumors, that spell out how we’re supposed to be getting through this emergency.

After weeks of not doing anything, government is finally stepping up and emergency aid legislation has passed the House and waiting for the Senate to act.

“The multi-billion dollar package aims to slow the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by a new coronavirus, and mitigate its economic effects as fears of recession loom.

The bill — the Families First Coronavirus Response Act — passed 363-40, with overwhelming bipartisan support. The 40 votes against the bill were all Republicans.”   SOURCE: AZMIRROR

Rep. Debbie Lesko R-AZ and Andy Biggs R-AZ voted “No” on the emergency stimulus package to combat the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Can you imagine that? Overwhelming bipartisan support for getting aid out to American business, and health care professionals fighting the virus.
Well, guess what? Two of the 40 who voted against the Families First Coronavirus Response Act belong to Arizona. U.S. Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Dazed & Confused) and U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-NowhereMan).

Lesko’s excuse was that neither she or her staff had a chance to “read the bill.” She called it a “rush job,” thereby letting everyone know that she does not understand the word “emergency.”

As for Biggs he’s not new to this game. He was one of only two members of Congress to vote “No” back on March 5th when emergency spending of $8.3 billion for public health agencies, vaccine research and other efforts came up for a vote. Got that? One of only two.

Now here’s the kicker: President Donald Trump, the man both Lesko and Biggs admire the  most is not on their side. Here’s his take:

“I fully support H.R. 6201: Families First CoronaVirus Response Act,” he wrote. “I encourage all Republicans and Democrats to come together and VOTE YES! … Look forward to signing the final Bill, ASAP!”          SOURCE: AZMIRROR

But Biggs had his own conspiracy theory that, like so many he’s pushed, is complete b.s. This theory lays the blame for everything and anything that was not handled properly or timely on — wait for it: The Democrats!
Perhaps Mr. Biggs, has not been washing his hands frequently or may be touching his face. His office doesn’t comment.

Neither Lesko nor Biggs is my congressman. But if either was I’d do my best to make sure they’re booted out of office. I mean, what kind of knucklehead votes against emergency legislation when the entire nation is at risk of a deadly disease?

On a personal note, apparently you’ll find me in my house for the next several weeks. My family is doing the equivalent of taking the car keys away from me. They’re letting me go outside in our yard and take an occasional walk to the mailbox. When I protested, they reminded me that I’m firmly in the “elderly” at risk category and they’re just protecting me. You gotta love them for this.

Be well.Wash your hands. Binge on movies & TV series, but try not to eat too much popcorn, what you have now may need to last several weeks.
